"The Ultimate Journey Tribute"
Escape

What word describes the heart-pounding experience of a live Journey concert? ESCAPE! . . A live musical tribute that faithfully captures the thrill that generations of fans raised on radio remember from performances by one of the world's greatest concert acts With a repertoire spanning three decades, ESCAPE lays down the musical evolution of Journey, from 70's departures like "Lights" and "Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin'", thru 80's rock standards like "Don't Stop Believin'" and "Faithfully" to Journey's most recent radio favorites of the 90's.

Like Journey, ESCAPE features five of California's top rock musicians. A voice like Steve Perry's is certainly a rare thing, but singer extraordinaire John Koha not only has the voice, but the look to match Journey's tuxedo-clad frontman. One of Southern California's top live and session singers and songwriters, John Koha is also a popular vocal instructor with a studio in Redondo Beach, CA. Before forming ESCAPE, John led the original melodic rock band Koha, which was produced by Kevin Beamish (of Starship and REQ Speedwagon fame.) One of John's career highlights was when none other than Steve Perry joined Koha on stage for a vocal duet. Musical director Stu Simone, filling Jonathan Cain's keyboards/vocals/guitar position, has been working with John Koha for the past five years on original pop/rock/r&b projects as well as Voice Productions acts Soul Provider: A tribute to Michael Bolton and Other Voices (Top-40 Dance Band). His credits include work with platinum artists Hamilton Joe Frank & Reynolds and Gary Richrath (REO Speedwagon guitarist), top-drawing LA bands Rings Of Saturn, LA Rocks and Magic, and sessions for movies and TV. Like Journey's Neil Schon, ESCAPE lead guitarist/vocalist Robert "Styles" Graves grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and has played with members of Santana; Believe it or not, Robert happened to be in the audience at Neil Schon's very first public performance! Drummer Scotty Lund is one of the busiest drummers in town, with current gigs including Hollywood Records recording act Thousand Clowns. Recent addition Rikki Riccardo (bass & vocals) had just finished touring the world with "musician's musician" Tony MacAlpine before signing on. Altogether, these California rockers faithfully capture the look and sound of Journey like no one else... just check out the enclosed video for proof. It's departure time for your musical ESCAPE...
